Proxy Server Sites

In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or application program) which acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to a proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web pages, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server evaluates the request in accordance with the filtering rules. For example, it may filter traffic by IP address or protocol. If the request is validated by the filter, proxy provides the resource by connecting to a server that is relevant and request such services on behalf of clients. A proxy server may optionally alter the client requests or server responses, and sometimes can serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, the cache ‘it’ responses from the remote server, and return the next request for the same content directly.
